The East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community convened a regional meeting to review antimicrobial (AMR) stewardship guidelines and the implementation of AMR surveillance across member states.
The meeting brought together national AMR focal persons, laboratory specialists, and public health officials from ECSA-HC member states to assess progress in implementing national AMR action plans and identify gaps requiring regional support.
Participants reviewed updated stewardship guidelines and discussed strategies for strengthening AMR surveillance networks, improving data quality, and enhancing laboratory capacity for antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
