The East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) proudly marked a historic milestone at the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) by convening a high-level side event on Science Diplomacy, organized in collaboration with the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS).

The event called for collective regional action to address Africa's scientific needs, highlighting the critical role of science diplomacy in advancing public health, research capacity, and sustainable development across the continent.

Distinguished speakers from across Africa and the global health community emphasised the importance of investing in scientific infrastructure, fostering south-south research collaboration, and integrating evidence-based approaches into health policy-making.
